3x3x3 Octahedron Ghost

The 3x3x3 Octahedron Ghost Cube started with something familiar: a regular 3x3x3 Cube. With a 3D-printed extension added to the puzzle, the simple cube takes on a completely different appearance and becomes a fascinating shape-shifting challenge. What looks like an unusual octahedral puzzle is actually built around the mechanism of a standard 3x3x3 Cube, making this modification especially interesting for twisty puzzle collectors and 3D-printing enthusiasts.

As you turn the layers, the extended pieces create confusing shapes and make it harder to recognize the correct positions. The goal is not only to solve the cube but also to understand how the added geometry changes the way the puzzle looks and moves.

This is my own version of the puzzle for this archive. I am not the original inventor, and I do not know who first created the design. This entry is shared to document and showcase the concept for fellow puzzle enthusiasts.
