The 3x3x3 Hexagonal Ghost takes the familiar mechanism of a regular 3×3 Rubik’s Cube and gives it a completely different personality. Using custom 3D-printed extension pieces, this shape mod transforms the traditional cube into an unusual hexagonal form with ghosted layers. The result is a puzzle that looks intriguing even before the first turn.
Once scrambled, the extended geometry makes the puzzle much harder to read. The ghosted layers remove the familiar visual cues of a standard cube, so solving becomes a matter of carefully studying the shapes, positions, and alignment of the pieces. What starts as a recognizable 3×3 mechanism quickly turns into a confusing three-dimensional challenge.
This is my version of the 3x3x3 Hexagonal Ghost, created as a 3D-printed modification of a regular 3×3 cube. I am not the original inventor of this concept. This entry documents my build and showcases the unusual combination of shape modification, ghost layers, and 3D-printed puzzle extensions for fellow twisty-puzzle enthusiasts. I am not the original inventor. This is my version of 3x3x3 Hexagonal Ghost.
