The 3x5x7 Diamond Mirror started as an experiment in what I could create by extending a familiar puzzle mechanism in a completely different direction. I have always enjoyed working with cuboids and bandaged puzzles, and this time I wanted to combine the classic 3x5x7 bandage concept with a diamond-shaped design and mirror mechanism.
I developed the 3x5x7 Diamond Mirror as a 3D-printed extension puzzle. 3D printing gave me the freedom to experiment with the geometry, proportions, and unusual shape without being limited by traditional manufacturing methods.
The design is based on a 7x7x7 cube mechanism, which I adapted to create the 3x5x7 form. The diamond shape completely changes the appearance, while the mirror mechanism makes solving even more interesting because the pieces are identified by their changing shapes and sizes rather than colors.
For me, this puzzle is a good example of how 3D printing can turn an unusual idea into a real, working puzzle.
