4x4x4 Deltoidal Icosahedron Ghost

The 4x4x4 Deltoidal Icosahedron Ghost is another experiment with combining an unusual geometric shape and the challenge of a ghost puzzle. This time, I started with a regular 4x4x4 cube and wanted to transform it into something far more complex in appearance.

Using the original 4x4x4 mechanism as the foundation, I modified its exterior into a Deltoidal Icosahedron shape. The many faces and unusual geometry give the puzzle a completely different look compared with a conventional cube.

To add another layer of difficulty, I incorporated ghosted layers into the design. With the layers visually blending together, it becomes harder to identify pieces and understand their orientation while solving.

The result is the 4x4x4 Deltoidal Icosahedron Ghost—a challenging combination of shape modification and ghost-puzzle mechanics. It is a great example of how a familiar 4x4x4 mechanism can be transformed into a strange and fascinating geometric puzzle.
