The Double Prism Skewb started with a simple geometric idea: what would happen if I fused two triangular prisms together and turned the result into a twisty puzzle?
Unlike some of my other designs, this puzzle is 100% 3D printed. I designed the entire puzzle from the ground up, using 3D printing to create the unusual geometry and the mechanism needed to make it functional.
I combined two triangular prism shapes to create a completely new form around the Skewb concept. The goal was to give the familiar Skewb mechanism a new identity—not just by changing its appearance, but by turning it into a genuine shape-shifting puzzle.
When scrambled, the Double Prism Skewb changes its form dramatically, making it difficult to predict how the pieces will look after each move. The unusual geometry adds another layer of challenge while keeping the characteristic turning experience of a Skewb.
