The story of the 3x4x5 Ghost Cuboid began when I was watching a video by Superantoniovivaldi about his 3x4x5 Hell Version. The puzzle was ghosted from the 5-layer sides and had a square-like form. During the video, he gave an interesting challenge: if someone could create a 3x4x5 Heaven Version—ghosted from the 4-layer side while keeping the puzzle in a true cuboid shape—he would be interested in buying it.
For me, the challenge immediately caught my attention. It wasn’t really about whether he would buy the puzzle. I simply liked the idea and wanted to see if I could make it work.
I started working on the design almost immediately. I experimented with the geometry and the ghosted surfaces, trying to preserve the 3x4x5 mechanism while transforming the shape into a proper cuboid.
After working through the challenges, I finally designed the 3x4x5 Ghost Cuboid.
I love these kinds of challenges because they push me to look at familiar puzzles differently. Sometimes, a simple idea from someone else is all it takes to start an entirely new design.
