Barrel Skewb II

The Barrel Skewb II is another experiment in pushing a familiar twisty puzzle into an unusual shape and movement system. This time, I started with a regular Skewb and wanted to see what would happen if its traditional cube form was transformed into a cylindrical shape.

The result is a barrel-shaped Skewb with a noticeably different appearance from the original puzzle. But the shape modification was only part of the idea. I also experimented with a different axis system, giving the puzzle a unique way of turning compared with a standard Skewb.

Combining the cylindrical geometry with the altered turning axes creates a puzzle that feels familiar in concept but quite different in practice. The unusual shape also makes it harder to predict how the pieces move and where they will end up after each turn.
