The Cuboctahedron Master Kilominx started as an experiment to see how far a familiar puzzle could be transformed just by changing its shape. Instead of keeping the traditional Master Kilominx form, I wanted to give it a completely different geometric appearance.
This puzzle is a shape modification of a regular Master Kilominx, created by using specially designed 3D printed extension parts. The original puzzle provides the core mechanism, while the printed extensions transform its exterior into a striking cuboctahedron shape.
What makes this project interesting is the combination of an existing mechanical puzzle with custom 3D printed parts. It is a great example of how 3D printing can be used to experiment with puzzle shapes and create unusual modifications that would be difficult to produce traditionally.
The Cuboctahedron Master Kilominx is a fun project for twisty puzzle collectors, 3D printing enthusiasts, and anyone fascinated by unusual geometric puzzle designs.
