Hexagonal curvy copter / Manish Hexacopter

The Manish Hexacopter is one of the designs that changed my journey as a puzzle designer. I wanted to take the idea of a Curvy Copter and explore it from a completely different geometric direction. The result was a puzzle combining a hexagonal-prism shape with copter-style turning, while still allowing it to change shape and jumble in fascinating ways.

But the real challenge was inside the mechanism. I wanted solvers to have freedom of movement without the frustrating collisions found in conventional copter-style puzzles. After many experiments with the geometry, I developed a collision-free mechanism that allows the edges to turn without interfering with each other.

Seeing this design move from my own experiments into mass production was an unforgettable moment. In 2025, the Manish Hexacopter was manufactured by Calvin’s Puzzles and began reaching puzzle enthusiasts around the world. Today, it has been sold in more than 18 countries.

For me, the Hexacopter is a reminder that an idea created at home can travel much farther than you ever imagined.
