The Icosahedron Skewb holds a special place in my journey as a puzzle designer because it was the first puzzle I designed to be listed in the Twisty Puzzles Museum under my name as the inventor.
It started as a mod of a regular Skewb, but I wanted to take its geometry in a completely different direction. I experimented with the shape and developed a different axis mechanism, eventually transforming the familiar Skewb into an icosahedron-inspired puzzle.
After I showcased the Icosahedron Skewb on my social media, something unexpected happened. I received a message from a moderator of the Twisty Puzzles Museum asking me for high-quality images so they could document and list the puzzle in the museum under my name as its inventor.
I was genuinely happy when I received that message. Seeing one of my designs officially documented as an invention was a very special moment for me.
The Icosahedron Skewb isn’t just a puzzle I designed—it marks an important milestone in my journey as a puzzle inventor and reminds me why I love experimenting with mechanisms and unusual geometry.
